Terms and Conditions

These are the terms you accept by using katietutorials.com. They are short, because the site is simple. It publishes free lessons about trading, and that is all it does. There is nothing to buy, no account to open and no money to deposit anywhere.

What this site is, and what it is not

Katie Tutorials publishes written lessons about risk, psychology and discipline in trading, alongside a YouTube channel of the same name.

It is not a broker, a signal service, a fund, a course or an advisory firm. I am not a licensed financial adviser, and I am not regulated by any financial authority, because nothing I do here requires it. I do not hold anybody’s money, place anybody’s trades or tell anybody what to buy.

Nothing on this site is financial advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to trade any instrument, use any broker or take any position. It is written for people who want to understand why accounts lose money. What you do with that is your decision and your responsibility.

Trading loses money

This is worth saying plainly rather than burying in a footnote.

Trading carries a high risk of losing money, and most people who try it lose. Past results, mine included, do not predict future ones. Every example, number and table on this site shows how the arithmetic works. None of it is a forecast of what will happen to you.

Whether trading a particular instrument is legal where you live, and whether you are old enough to do it, is for you to check. It differs by country, and it changes.

You need to be 18 or older

This site is for adults. If you are under 18 it is not for you, and neither is trading.

What you may do with what is here

Read it, print it, send it to someone, use the trading journal template for your own trading, and quote from it.

If you quote, quote a reasonable amount, make it clear the words are mine, and link back to the page you took them from. That is the whole request, and nobody is going to hear from me over a paragraph.

What you may not do is republish a lesson in full, translate it and publish the translation under your own name, or reuse the charts without saying where they came from. The lessons and the charts are mine, and they took real work. The previous version of this site was put together from other people’s copied text, which is exactly why there is a rule about it now.

Comments

Comments are open on the lessons, and they are moderated.

What gets published: anything relevant, disagreement included. If something here is wrong, say so in the comments and the page gets corrected.

What does not: advertising, broker referral links, signal groups, invitations to message someone on Telegram, abuse, and anything that tries to get a reader to hand money to a stranger. Those are deleted without discussion, because they are the exact thing this site exists to argue against.

By leaving a comment you give me permission to publish it on the page and keep it there. You can ask for yours to be removed at any time through the contact page, and it will be.

Some pages link out, mostly to the YouTube channel. Once you follow a link you are on somebody else’s site, under their terms and their privacy policy, and I have no control over what they do or what they publish later.

There are no affiliate links on this site and no paid placements. Nobody has paid to be mentioned here, and no broker earns me anything if you click anything. If that ever changes, it will be written on the page where it happens rather than hidden down here.

When the site is down, or wrong

I try to keep the lessons accurate and the site working, but I do not promise either. Pages can be offline, content can be edited or removed, and something here may turn out to be wrong.

As far as the law allows, I am not liable for losses of any kind that follow from using this site or from acting on anything in it, trading losses included. If you want advice you can rely on and hold somebody to, you need a licensed adviser, and this is not one.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change. Using the site after a change means the new version applies.

If something goes wrong between us

If you have a problem with something on this site, the first step is to tell me through the contact page. Most things are a misunderstanding or a mistake that I would rather fix than argue about.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable where you are, the rest of it still stands.
