About Katie Tutorials

I am Katie. I have been trading for more than seven years, and I make videos about it for beginners on YouTube, where the channel has passed 300,000 subscribers. This site is the written half of the same thing.

It exists because most of what beginners are told is either too vague to act on or too confident to be true. Almost nobody loses an account because they could not define a limit order. They lose it because they added to a losing trade, or moved a stop, or took the trade straight back the moment it went against them. Few people write honestly about those things, because writing about them means admitting you did them.

What I trade, and why the lessons are not about it

This matters when you read anything here, so I would rather say it near the top.

Most of my own trading is short term options, where you pick a direction and an expiry time instead of setting a stop loss. That is a narrow product with rules of its own, and it is not what this site teaches.

The lessons cover the part that carries across every market. How much to risk on a single trade. When to stop for the day. What an ordinary losing streak looks like in numbers, so you can tell one apart from a strategy that has really stopped working. What to write down, and what the record tells you that memory will not. I use stop losses and position sizing as the worked examples, because they make the arithmetic visible, and because most people reading this will be trading products where they exist.

If you want a click by click tour of one platform, this is the wrong site, and there are hundreds of those. This one is about the decisions you make before you open anything.

The mistakes are mine

Every lesson here that opens with a story opens with something I did.

There is a day in November that cost me 8,000 dollars in about fifteen minutes, because I lost one trade and decided to win it back immediately. There is the time I put close to half my deposit into a single currency pair because I was certain about a moving average crossover. There are the three losses in a row that I answered by doubling my stake, with no analysis behind it at all. There is the entry I read correctly and then ruined by choosing an expiry one minute shorter than my own plan called for.

The journal came after that. When I sorted my trades by time and day, I found something no amount of reading would have told me: my losses were concentrated on Friday evenings, when I was tired and breaking my own rules without noticing.

I do not trade without a daily loss limit now, and the platform is set to lock me out for twenty four hours once I reach it. Not because I have unusual discipline, but because I do not. A rule you have to physically work around is worth more than a promise you make to yourself.

What is here, and what I will not do

Every lesson on the site is free to read, and they are grouped into four paths, so there is an order to follow rather than a pile to pick from. No sign up, no email wall, no paid tier.

  • No paid signals, ever. Anyone who could reliably call the next move would not be renting that call out by the month.
  • No profit screenshots as an argument. A screenshot proves one trade happened. It says nothing about the hundred around it.
  • No promised percentage. Anyone who tells you what you will make per month is guessing, or selling.
  • No financial advice. I am not licensed to give any, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Trading loses money for most people who try it, and it may lose yours.

How the lessons are kept honest

Every lesson carries the date it was published and the date it was last reviewed, so you can see whether anyone has looked at it since it went up.

When a fact comes from outside my own trading, the source is named in the sentence rather than hidden behind “studies show”. When a claim is a number, the arithmetic is on the page, so you can check it instead of trusting me.

If something here is wrong, I would rather hear about it than not. The contact page reaches me, and corrections get made on the page itself.

Where to find me

The videos are on YouTube at @katietutorialsofficial. They cover a lot of the same ground with the charts actually moving, which some of it needs.

If you are starting from nothing, begin with the trading basics path. If you have already lost money and want to know where it went, start with why do I keep losing money in trading. That is the one I would have needed.

Official accounts

These are the only accounts I run:

I don’t sell signals, and I never message anyone first. Any other account that uses my name or photo is not me. If someone writes to you claiming to be me, offering signals or asking for money or personal details, it is a scam: please don’t reply and don’t send anything.
